A new Climate Policy in 2020

In 2020, Lyreco defines its new Climate Policy, setting new CO2 reduction targets based on the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)  methodology.

SCIENCE BASED TARGETS

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a joined initiative by CDP, the UN Global Compact, the World Resources Institute and WWF.

Its goal is to increase corporate ambition on climate action by mobilising companies to set greenhouse gas emission reduction targets to less than 1.5ºC / 2°C, in line with the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.

Endorsing the initiative, Lyreco will first define targets based on 2 Key Performance Indicators

  1. Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions relating to Scope 1 (direct emissions) and Scope 2 (indirect energy emissions).
  2. Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions relating to Scope 3 (other indirect emissions) that are under Lyreco’s control, namely business travels, waste and Lyreco branded products (1)

A pilot will be launched by the end of 2020, led Lyreco Scandinavian subsidiary.

Committed to carbon reduction

Lyreco's current carbon reduction targets were set in 2010 as part of the Eco-Future CSR strategy 2012-2018.

Progress is measured using a specific method applied by all subsidiaries: the Lyreco Carbon Footprint Calculator.
