Job Description

Position:          Buying and Merchandising Director

Reporting to:   Managing Director (Thailand)

Reporting directly to the Managing Director this roles presents as a fantastic opportunity for a senior professional from a retail background, to lead a key department operating within both e-commerce and traditional channels in the B to B market-place of Thailand.

With over 50% of Lyreco's sales globally from online channels, this role represents an exciting opportunity in a growing market. The team's responsibilities consist of supplier management, product selection and price negotiation, digital and traditional product catalogue production, merchandising, pricing and ecommerce.

Primary Duties:

Managing a team selecting products to sell across Lyreco’s sales channels whilst keeping good relationships with existing suppliers.Analysing customer buying patterns, predicting future trends, and identify trends and business opportunities whilst searching for new products and suppliers for future products.Assess the competitive market with respect to trends, marketing & product strategy; react to ensure market leadershipCo-ordinate between supplier, logistics, sales, customer service and direct marketing team to ensure the most effective business results.Working closely on and within the the country strategy to ensure all departmental teams are aware of on-going courses of actionDevelop seasonal promotion strategiesTo manage the main functions within the department of supplier and product selection, as well as the yearly product catalogue, ecommerce site and product pricing.

Requirments

Tertiary qualifications within a Sales & Marketing discipline are preferred.At least 7 years of experience in product selection and merchandising.Knowledge of ecommerce, purchasing, merchandising and supplier management skills.An extensive and proven track record of leading a large team of people.Dynamic and analytical.Ability to perform under pressure.Exceptional English both written and verbalHighly proficient in all Microsoft packages, experience of working with an ERP such as SAP is highly beneficial.A team player
