Group Life@work category team is looking for a Group Product Manager (GPM) for the Hygiene Category --- Temporary assignment

Start date: 1st July until mid February 2023

Location : Ideally based in Marly.

Role of GPM

The GPM builds and executes action plans aligned with the category strategy that will ensure the achievement of sales and margin targets. The GPM, in collaboration with the Group Category Director, defines the group product assortment. The GPM is responsible for Group Supplier Management (prospection, selection, negotiation, contract, improvement plans, and potentially delisting). The GPM, with the support of GMSO (Group Marketing Support Officer), is responsible to support subsidiaries.

Main Missions

Support the strategy definition in collaboration with the Category Director

  • Category management and trends monitoring. Understand and analyze customers needs, market & product trends.
  • Build and follow-up action plans aligned with the Category strategy to deliver expected results.

Group Product Assortment management

  • The GPM is responsible for the Group Common Range Assortment (selection, information on changes, quality issues, etc.).
  • The GPM will identify gaps in the offer and constantly look for new opportunities in products or services.
  • The GPM supports the Group Sustainability policy and Circular economy pledge in product selection and definition.

Group Supplier management – sourcing to contract

  • The GPM constantly prospects for new opportunities.
  • The GPM is responsible for price negotiations that will ensure a competitive offer at group level.
  • Supported by the Legal team, the GPM negotiates contract terms (Rebates, marketing funds, advertising, logistics …) and ensures proper implementation.
  • The GPM follows day to day supplier management, supported by Support Officers (business reviews, quality, logistics, price lists, product information, etc.)

Support Local marketing teams in the implementation of the strategy

  • The GPM ensures that local and group strategies are coherent and aligned.
  • The GPM shares Category knowledge with the subsidiaries during Category meetings and enables best practices amongst subsidiaries.
  • The GPM recommends the selling price positioning, margin expectation and communicates it to the local product managers through a category pricing memo.

Absolute must: Fluent professional English both written and spoken

Desired employment training: Masters Degree with +5 years of professional experience in category management and purchasing.

Market knowledge in Catering and Furniture categories is a plus.

Tools knowledge:  Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
