RDC Manager 

Location: Telford

Monday-Friday 40 hours

As a Regional Distribution Centre Manager your responsibilities are: 

 

To lead and manage all aspects of the RDC operation, its workforce, and the customer experience. Achieve Operational Excellence in all aspects of quality, delivery, and cost by establishing a continuous improvement culture. To collaborate on and support Distribution wide projects & initiatives to continuously improve and standardise Distribution Policy and Procedures. 

 

You will also:  

  • This role has supervisory responsibilities for all employees within the RDC 

  • Develop and sustain a continuous improvement culture and use the available tools to increase efficiency, improve the working day, reduce cost, and enhance the customer experience 

  • Achieve cost to serve objective and optimise micro KPIs 

  • Ensure vehicles are fully maintained in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendation 

  • Present and provide daily, weekly, and monthly information on the performance of the RDC 

  • Recruit and induct new staff – also assist in the training and development of staff based at other RDCs. 

  • This role requires interaction with various members of the public both on the road and on customer premises and it is essential that the job holder can always portray a positive image of themselves and the company. 

  • Work closely with Sales Representatives and Account Managers, actively participate in SMB and National Accounts meetings, to ensure customers always receive the highest standard of service. 

 

The ideal candidate will have:  

  • Previous Leadership and supervisory experience. 

  • Good working knowledge of local geographical area. 

  • Pro-active approach with the ability to effectively manage change. 

  • Possession of a current driving license 

  • CPC holder – Desirable but not essential 

  • This role requires regular contact with the company’s customer base. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are essential. 

  • Basic knowledge of IT Skills, planning and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and train staff.
