Supplier and Seller assessment

This supplier assessment is the first mandatory criteria defined by Lyreco. It is based on the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework, which includes subjects such as greenhouse gas emissions, resources, circular economy, health & safety, employee development, human rights, sustainable procurement, business ethics and information confidentiality.

The assessment is considered completed if:

  • The supplier or seller possesses a third-party ESG rating or certification (B-Corp certificate or Ecovadis scorecard), under certain parameters.
  • The supplier or seller provides evidence and documentation about ESG initiatives and actions through a questionnaire, and achieves at least the minimum score defined by Lyreco (50% of the total score, while 50% of that corresponds to the environmental section).

In 2023, the importance of the ESG pillars has been distributed in the following form: Environmental (55%), Social (25%) and Governance (20%), and suppliers and sellers should achieve at least 50%. The score is constantly revised, and is to be become stricter as from 2024.

Our evaluation scale (minimum points, the scoring split for each ESG division, etc.) is already demanding, and will become more and more restrictive once our suppliers and sellers have become familiar with the methodology,  with our aim to continiously adapt and improve.
