Lyreco has committed itself to prioritize circular economy from 2020 to 2025 and speed up the development of internal durable business solutions for our clients.
Integrating the circular economy into our way of working is a lever for achieving our sustainability goals. It is also an appropriate response to the growing number of customers demanding internalized sustainable business solutions.
In 2020 we made 5 commitments to help customers make faster progress towards a drastic reduction of non-recyclable waste in the work environment. In this way they significantly reduce their impact on the environment.
Here’s what we pledge
The 5 Lyreco commitments towards circular work environments
Being the pioneer in the business to offer a full range of recyclable products
Lyreco will have a recyclable alternative for any product a customer may need by 2025. Hereby we mean these products will be made out of materials that can be re-inserted into the value chain, according to the criteria for recyclability or recycled contents as described in the 14021 standards.
Offer the collection of end-of-life items and reuse used materials into the production chain
Lyreco will offer a collection option for every recyclable item, ensuring efficient recycling and sharing information on their use in the future, by 2025.
Eliminate non-circular packages
Lyreco will decrease and even exclude non-recyclable packaging for any item by 2025.
Non-circular or single-use plastics will be banned from our workplaces
Lyreco will exclude any non-circular or single-use plastic from our workplaces bu 2025. Leading by example is a prerequisite to motivate our clients.
Together with all European stakeholders, we will develop a circular economy standard for all work environment businesses
By 2025, we will work together with key actors in circular economy, as well as European authorities to declare a clear standard for the work environment.
When we collect small office items, Lyreco promises to recycle products and reuse raw materials in the manufacturing chain as many as possible.
