Lyreco Pioneers 2023

Congratulations to our Lyreco Pioneers!

On May 31st, six Lyreco Pioneer teams pitched their innovative ideas to a five-person jury, and the below three winning teams will be moving on to the three-month acceleration phase, where they will turn their prototypes into a functional MVP (minimal viable product) that will be launched to our customers. Congratulations to Workwear for Women, LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) as a Service and Smart Safety Helmet & PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

Although not every team will proceed to the next phase, all our Lyreco Pioneers did an excellent job. Yang Yang flew in all the way from South Korea to present his project, Virtual W&W (Wellness & Welfare) Simulation Tool. Michael Mattern, from Germany presented his workplace meeting space project called Space+++, and from France, Patrick Mounier, Mathieu Lison and Guillaume Prevost presented their project, DigitalizePro.

Workwear for Women

Workwear for Women

Workwear for Women - Made by Women is a communications tool aimed to educate and create awareness on properly fitted workwear and equipment for women in the workplace. The current general approach to accommodate women in the workplace is to provide them with downscaled men’s equipment, but items designed for men tend to have the incorrect fit and function for women. Through this initiative, they want to raise awareness on the importance of correct PPE, to show that fit and comfort are crucial factors in delivering a safe working day. Lyreco currently offers workwear solutions for women, and this new platform will help educate our customers on their journey to ensure they are ordering the correct workwear for their workforce. Some benefits of this initiative will help attract new customers, redirect existing customers, and help the strategic expansion of the assortment to name a few. This winning project was presented by Deborah Berglund (from Sweden) and Martyna Kujawska (from the UK).

LCA as a Service

LCA as a Service

LCA as a Service (Life Cycle Assessment as a Service), is a service created for suppliers to assist them in calculating their products climate impact. The demand for products CO² emission is increasing, which can be an expensive and difficult journey for our suppliers to supply. This LCA as a Service will offer support from sustainability specialists and provide easy data calculation, and it will support Lyreco’s goal to expand the sale of our Sustainable Selection, as well as allowing Lyreco to guide our customers towards better climate product choices. This winning project was presented by Johanna Jigmo-Linde and Ellen Söderlund (from Sweden) and Camilla Rasmussen (from Denmark).

Smart Safety Helmet & PPE

Smart Safety Helmet & PPE

Smart Safety Helmet & PPE (Personalised Protective Equipment) is a project that uses IoT (Internet of Things) to digitalize risks and connect workers for a safer future. The aim is to reduce accidents, reduce the reaction times in the event of an accident and to better control subcontracting productivity. Data, such as position, height, temperature, inclination, and more, will help prevent and act in the event of a risk situation such as a fall, impact, run over, monitoring access to dangerous areas, hours of equipment use, etc. The compliance and active surveillance of the safety of the workers will be offered remotely from anywhere through plug-and-play wearables in PPE. This winning project was presented by Josep M. Corbella (from Spain).
