Lyreco (Thailand) Mission to recycle plastic materials.
Lyreco (Thailand) and Suez Circular Polymer (Thailand) began a mission to recycle LDPE and LLDPE plastic material that had been made from our business. We had gathered these 400 kilograms of plastic wastes within 2 weeks. We called our partner, Suez Circular Polymer, to collaborate in recycling these plastic wastes instead of disposal. They were turn into thermoplastic resins. Then, they will be ready to begin their second lifecycle following the "Circular Economy Pledge" for 2025
Shaping a sustainable environment is the mission of SUEZ. We are very proud to support LYRECO with our SUEZ Circular Polymer plastic recycling plant in Bang Phli in their ambition to break the plastic wave. Our partnership to collect and recycle warehouse plastic films will contribute to reducing the environmental footprint of the logistics industry, thus protecting the oceans from plastic leakage as a result of mismanagement. Our common goal is to join the industry in driving closed loop recycling and a circular economy.”

พลาสติก LDPE มีความอ่อนนุ่มและยืดหยุ่นสูง จึงเหมาะแก่การผลิตถุงพลาสติกหรือฟิล์มต่างๆ

ซึ่งเป็นน้ำหนักเทียบเท่ากับหอไอเฟล ที่สร้างจากโลหะ 15,000 ชิ้น, สกรู 2,500,000 ตัว ซึ่งได้น้ำหนักรวมกว่า 7,000 ตัน
- อัตตราปริมาณขยะที่เกิดขึ้นใประเทศไทยสูงกว่าปริมาณที่ย่อยสลายหรือนำไป Recycle
- การรรีไซเคิลพลาสติก เป็นหนึ่งในวิธีการที่ทำให้ลีเรคโกมุ่งไปสู่คำมั่นสัญญาเรื่องเศษฐกิจแบบหมุนเวียน (Circular Economy)
ประมาณ 2 ล้านตันในภาพรวม หรือ เกิดขึ้นประมาณ 5,300 ตันต่อวัน
- ปริมาณขยะของไทยมีประมาณ 27 ล้านตัน
- เป็นขยะที่กำจัดไม่ถูกวิธี 13.5 ล้านตัน
- กำจัดถูกวิธี 8 ล้านตัน
- และขยะที่นำกลับมาใช้ประโยชน์ใหม่ หรือ รีไซเคิล 5 ล้านตัน
ถุงพลาสติก 1 ถุง สามารถก่อให้เกิด CO2 อยู่ที่ 33 กรัม โดยประมาณ
เพราะว่าคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์ (CO2) นั้นเป็นสาเหตุส่วนหนึ่งของการเกิดภาวะโลกร้อน (Global Warming) ซึ่งก่อให้เกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางสภาวะอากาศ ภัยพิบัติทางธรรมชาติ หรือการสูญพันธุ์ของสัตว์บางชนิด ฯลฯ ตามมา
