SUPPLY CHAIN DIRECTOR

The role will play a fundamental part in shaping the local business strategy, aligned with the group business objectives. Reporting directly into the Managing Director and functionally to the Group Supply Chain Director, the Supply Chain Director is accountable to provide the best end-to-end supply chain from suppliers to customers to maximize business opportunities and profitability.

The role is based 50% in Cambiago (MI) and 50% in Monticelli D'Ongina (PC)

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

•    General responsibilities
o    Manage and optimize the full supply chain process from the supplier to the customer
o    Preparation and submission of annual budgets and monthly reporting on financial & operational performance of areas of responsibility;
o    Comply and enforce Company policies, procedures and standards. Promoting Quality, Environmental company practices and a safe and healthy working environment at all times;
•    People management
o    Manage and mentor a team of managers and supervisors to achieve high levels of performance and release their full potential;

o    Motivate staff and generate the conditions to reach the maximum level of commitment in the team;
o    Supervises the direct reports to include skill development, motivation and performance management in order to meet all objectives for the organization
o    Contribute to define policies that are in place to recruit, manage and train staff;
o    Ensure all company personnel procedures are applied and adhered to within area of responsibility;
o    Manage collaboration and communication with social partners (workers’ council – employee delegation).
•    S&OP
o    Works cross-functionally to forge collaborative relationships with sales, marketing, customer service, finance, human resources departments to drive customer satisfaction and profitability;
o    Manage stock to agreed inventory levels with the defined service level and provide an effective demand planning process.
•    Continuous improvement
o    Determine key performance statistics for areas of responsibility and target and drives initiatives to ensure goals are met on schedule;
o    Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions;
o    Keep abreast of developments in the supply chain industry and make recommendations as appropriate for the improvement of the business.
•    Supplier management
o    Optimize the forecasting process and the order processing
o    Develop an exchange of information related to current and future requirements
o    Ensure supplier service level is reaching the necessary level of performance;
o    Develop and cultivate mutually beneficial supplier relationships that ensure continuity of supply;
•    NDC management
o    Determine warehouse strategy and organization
o    Determine mechanical handling equipment requirements and ensure provision according to agreed methods of finance.
o    Manage the internal maintenance structure and process
•    Delivery Management
o    Determine locations for Regional Distribution Centres and recommend openings / closures as appropriate for the business;
o    Determine distribution strategy and negotiate all third party carrier contracts;
o    Select vehicles and determine maintenance programmes to ensure vehicles are operated within legal requirements and all driver legislation is adhered to.

•    KPI
o    Supply Chain OPEX rate;
o    Productivity by department and by sub structure
o    Supplier and customer Service level / Sales Forecasts Accuracy /Stock level.
o    Financial parameters
•    Other responsibilities:
o    Lead cross-functional project, collaborating with Marketing / Sales / Customer Service / Finance / HR / IS departments until implementation;

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

•    Engineering master degree level;
•    Excellent knowledge on supply chain (Supply Chain certification desirable, retail sector preferred);
•    Good knowledge on transport regulation (including tax assets);
•    Italian & English speaking;
•    Minimum of 10 years’ experience in delivering results and successfully engaging stakeholders in S&OP and supply chain operations in a fast paced and changing environment;
•    Business acumen, strategic & cross departmental vision;
•    Strong leadership and development skills, ability to learn and apply new concepts and overcome obstacles with change, and develop; 
•    Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to adapt to various situations;
•    Use and optimize the resources available in the environment in order to achieve the objectives; 
•    Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, problem solving;

•    Experience in OMS (Order Management System), in WMS (Warehouse Management System), in WCS (Warehouse Control System)
