Electricities: urban delivery on the road to zero emissions

The acceleration of climate change and its dramatic consequences require us to intensify our efforts to protect the environment. At the heart of our activities, the transport of goods in urban areas is a significant source of greenhouse gas emissions.

25%

of CO2 emissions by transport will come from delivery transportation[1].

A significant shift is currently taking place in the diesel delivery vehicles towards trucks and vans using alternative power sources, among which electricity stands for a significant substitute. With a range of up to 150 miles and zero carbon emission, electric vehicles are ideally suited to "last mile" deliveries.

Lyreco takes action

In compliance with Paris Agreement, Lyreco commits to reducing CO2 emissions that come from its activities and to finding resources alternatives to cover the last mile in order to deliver sustainably what any workplace needs.

Since 2010, Lyreco reduced its CO2 emissions by 19.3%

In 2021, Lyreco goes further by launching its new Climate Policy and acts for healthier urban environments by piloting concrete projects on all-electric vehicles.

A step forward to commit more to CO2 emissions reduction for Lyreco Switzerland

Since 2012, Lyreco Switzerland reduced its CO2 emissions by 30%, partly by committing to low emission deliveries in urban city centres.

Since 2017, Lyreco delivers its Swiss clients in 3 cities with electric rickshaws, and since January 2021, 2 cities are covered with electric vans.

The aim: propose a low delivery solution in all major Swiss cities by 2023.

Electric test & learn at Lyreco Italy

In May 2021, Fiat Professional (a Stellantis brand) selected Lyreco Italy for contributing to the pilote project of the new e-Ducato, the first Fiat Professional 100% electric vehicle. A way to contribute to low emission, low sound distribution and to reduce the traffic in city centers thanks to their long-distance capacity.

As selected partner, Lyreco received a test van which they will use for 2 months to collect the necessary data to upgrade the E-Ducato and make it a true asset for responsible urban and near-urban delivery.

Go deeper into renewable electricity with Lyreco Germany

When it comes to responsibility, you have to check the whole chain to make sure you enhance sustainability at every level. For this reason, Lyreco Germany has decided to source its electricity exclusively from renewable sources.

In February 2021, E.ON Energie Deutschland GmbH certified that the entire energy requirement of Lyreco Germany facilities in 2020 was covered with 100% natural electricity from renewable energies. This certificate confirms Lyreco's continued commitment to climate change.
